Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM)

The Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) is a regulatory framework introduced to ensure the quality and traceability of solar PV modules deployed in government-supported projects in India.
The framework promotes the use of domestically manufactured modules that meet prescribed technical standards, thereby supporting domestic manufacturing capacity and quality assurance across the sector.
ISMA works closely with its members and relevant authorities to address operational issues related to ALMM implementation and to ensure alignment between manufacturing capabilities and policy objectives.

Production Linked Incentive (PLI)
The Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for High Efficiency Solar PV Modules is a flagship initiative of the Government of India, implemented by MNRE, with a total outlay of ₹24,000 crore to build gigawatt-scale domestic manufacturing capacity.
The scheme aims to reduce import dependence by promoting technology-agnostic, high-efficiency manufacturing, backward integration across the value chain, local material sourcing, employment generation, and long-term technological selfsufficiency in India’s solar sector
Implemented in two tranches, Tranche-I (₹4,500 crore) awarded 8,737 MW through IREDA, while Tranche-II (₹19,500 crore) allocated 39,600 MW to 11 manufacturers through SECI.

Capacity Addition under PLI Scheme (2025)
Indian Solar Manufacturers Association (ISMA) is the apex industry body representing leading backward-integrated solar PV manufacturers in India, with strong representation from solar cell manufacturers and upstream capacity developers.
